Cowlitz County Police Blotter 2/6/2026 to 2/12/2026

Our local officers were extra busy this week, especially in Castle Rock and Woodland. Both cities found a deceased person lying by the road. There were several high-speed chases and gun incidents. We are thankful to the officers on the front line who keep our community safe.


Worst Crime Award – Demichael John Rowlette, Mr. Rowlette has so many charges, ranging from Reckless Endangerment and Robbery to 1st Degree Kidnapping and Attempt to Elude, he easily won this week.

Highest Bail – Rowlette’s antics also earned him this week’s highest bail award at $550,000.

Dumbest Crime Award – Colby Michael Allen Williamson earns this award, as it seems his potential DUI charge turned into a whole host of others when he attempted to elude the officers.


Castle Rock – Teacher intervenes with juvenile near Huntington Ave., deputies responded to a report of a 10-year-old student acting aggressively and attempting to leave school grounds near Huntington Avenue in Castle Rock. A teacher was reportedly trying to intervene when authorities were notified. The situation involved a possible juvenile behavioral disturbance. 2/4/2026 11:51 AM

Castle Rock – Small Structure Fire on Camelot Drive and Sir Lancelot Way. Emergency crews from District 6, including Squad 61 and Medic 61261, were dispatched to the area of Camelot Drive and Sir Lancelot Way in Cowlitz County, Washington, for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, responders found a small ten-by-fifteen-foot fire involving garbage and discarded furniture materials. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. 2/6/2026 06:46 PM

Castle Rock – Commercial alarm at business on Mt St Helens Way. Dispatchers received a report of a possible burglary involving a commercial alarm activation near Mount St Helens Way, close to a business. Officers were sent to investigate the cause of the alarm. 2/14/2026 07:31 AM

Castle Rock – Unconscious patient found at 2200 Hazel Dell Road. Emergency responders were dispatched to a possible medical situation near Hazel Dell Road involving an unconscious individual. The situation was treated as a high-priority medical response. 2/13/2026 12:27 PM

Castle Rock – Vehicle crash near Jim’s View Rd in Castle Rock. Emergency responders attended a single-vehicle crash off Spirit Lake Highway near Jim’s View Rd. Airbags reportedly deployed, and a single occupant in their thirties or forties had back pain but no other visible injuries. The Washington State Patrol notified. 2/9/2026 01:33 PM

Castle Rock – Pickup rollover causes traffic delay on West Side Highway. Emergency crews responded to a traffic crash on West Side Highway near Castle Rock involving a pickup truck that had rolled over and was blocking the northbound lane. The occupants were reportedly out of the vehicle and possibly in a dispute. Traffic control and medical units were requested to assist at the scene. 2/9/2026 02:11 PM

Castle Rock – Suspicious person going door to door with soap. Deputies responded to a report of a man going door to door handing out bottles of dish soap near 1st Avenue Southwest in Castle Rock. The man reportedly left the area and was seen walking toward the river. His actions were considered suspicious, but no further details were available. 2/11/2026 02:11 PM 

Castle Rock / Vader – Pursuit lost after suspected DUI on Military Rd. Officers attempted a traffic stop of a vehicle suspected of driving under the influence. The driver fled the scene, and officers lost sight of the vehicle in fog near Military Road. No arrest or injuries were reported at the time. 2/9/2026 08:57 PM

Silver Lake – Street fight involving multiple people on Memory Lane. Deputies responded to a reported fight on Memory Lane in Silver Lake involving three individuals, with several others standing nearby. No weapons were reported, and the situation appeared calmed before officers arrived. 2/14/2026 01:31 PM

Kalama – Deputies investigate vandalism near Old Pacific Hwy S. Dispatch received a report of suspected vandalism near the 6400 block of Old Pacific Highway South in Kalama. A caller driving by on Interstate 5 said they saw two people spray painting a cement wall at a new housing development between exits 27 and 30. The individuals were reportedly wearing dark clothing. 2/1/2026 01:05 PM

Kalama – Fire alarm canceled at Kalama High School. Fire crews initially responded to a reported fire alarm at Kalama High School on China Garden Road. The alarm was later confirmed as an authorized cancellation. Another part of the transmission mentioned a separate domestic disturbance at a residence on Fowler Lane, where a man allegedly threatened property damage. Kelso – Officers detain two after foot pursuit near Peacock Ln. Law enforcement pursued two vehicle occupants who fled on foot from an apparent traffic stop near Peacock Lane in Kelso. Multiple patrol units, K-9 teams, and a drone were deployed to track the individuals through a nearby residential complex. Kelso – Accidental shooting near Old Pacific Highway South. Law enforcement was notified of an accidental shooting near Old Pacific Highway South in Kelso. A man was treated at St. John Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the foot. 2/3/2026 02:01 AM

Kelso – Apparent repeated 911 hang-up near Solomon Rd. Deputies responded to a possible situation involving multiple abandoned 911 calls near Solomon Road at an apartment complex in Kelso. The calls appear to have originated from the same phone number, though no immediate emergency could be confirmed. 2/9/2026 07:33 PM

Kelso – Unwanted motorhome on private property in Kelso. Deputies were called to a report of an unwanted motorhome parked on private property near Ostrander Road in Kelso. The vehicle may belong to individuals previously evicted from the property. It was unclear whether the motorhome was currently occupied. 2/14/2026 10:20 AM

Longview – Man points gun at person during dispute over folder. Officers responded to a report involving a man who allegedly had a gun pointed at him while another person tried to take a folder. The caller described the weapon as possibly a machine gun or automatic firearm. The incident remains under investigation. 2/12/2026 01:31 AM

Longview – Man yelling at cars and shadow boxing on Washington Way. Officers responded to reports of a man yelling and shadow boxing near businesses on Washington Way. The man was described as having long brown hair and wearing a light blue shirt. He was reportedly confronting passing vehicles and was later taken into custody without further incident. 2/14/2026 04:17 PM

Longview – Person overdoses in parking lot of Fred Meyer store. Emergency crews responded to a report of a possible overdose at a parking lot near Ocean Beach Highway in Longview. The individual was found in a vehicle, and medical personnel were dispatched to provide assistance. There were additional concerns mentioned regarding the person’s prior behavior. 2/13/2026 02:32 PM

Longview – Containment Operation for Suspect near Mount Solo and Branch Creek. Law enforcement units in Cowlitz County, Washington, coordinated a containment operation after a suspect was sighted near Mount Solo, Branch Creek, Greyhawk, and Grove. Officers established perimeters, confirmed suspect descriptions, and attempted to locate the individual who was seen moving between residential complexes. The suspect was described as a younger white or Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and gray sweatpants. Units from Longview were involved, and the final known location was behind 2141 Branch Creek. Despite efforts, including discussion of drone support, the suspect’s movements were intermittent, prompting continued containment and coordination among multiple officers. Longview – Stabbing victim linked to vehicle at Cottonwood Place. Officers in Longview responded to reports of a vehicle connected to a possible stabbing near Cottonwood Place. Medical and fire units were dispatched to stage nearby for the victim. The suspect vehicle was located, and units maintained observation until the scene was secure. 2/13/2026 08:21 AM

Longview – Man reportedly tried to enter vehicle with a gun. Authorities received a report of a possible break-in involving a weapon near Douglas Street behind an apartment complex. A male reportedly in a Volvo station wagon may have tried to enter a law enforcement vehicle. Details are under investigation. 2/12/2026 01:29 AM

Longview – Police respond to dispute possibly involving gunfire. Law enforcement officers responded to a reported assault and active dispute near Oregon Way in Longview. A caller reported that an intoxicated man was involved, and there were unconfirmed reports of gunshots. Multiple units responded, and one individual was detained as officers continued working the scene. 2/6/2026 10:54 PM

Longview – Infant choking incident at local Safeway store. Emergency crews responded to a report of an infant choking at Safeway in Longview. The infant was confirmed to be breathing, and medical personnel remained on scene to provide assistance. The situation was managed safely. 2/11/2026 11:16 AM

Longview – Juvenile Shoplifting Incident with Threat at Fred Meyer, Longview. Loss prevention at the Fred Meyer store in Longview, Washington, reported that two juveniles were involved in a shoplifting incident. During the confrontation, a female suspect reportedly told the employee she had a gun and threatened to shoot him, though no weapon was actually seen. The female suspect, described as a 16-year-old Black female wearing all black with white shoes, fled across Ocean Beach Highway toward the beachway. The male suspect accompanying her was wearing all black and carrying a large black backpack. Later, the female was entered as a runaway. 2/12/2026 04:29 PM

Longview – Police find deceased person near Coal Creek Road. Authorities responded to a report of a deceased person at a location near Coal Creek Road in Longview. The situation appeared to involve a possible death investigation. 2/11/2026 03:45 PM

Woodland – High-Speed Pursuit of Blue Toyota Scion on I-5 Ends with Suspect in Custody near Ridgefield. Law enforcement units pursued a blue Toyota Scion traveling southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 27. The pursuit involved multiple agencies. The vehicle bearing plate Charles Frank Henry 7786 was observed traveling at 85–90 mph. The pursuit was terminated several times for safety reasons, including near milepost 25 and again near Woodland by Safeway at Scott and Pacific. The suspect was later located near McDonald’s at Exit 14 and subsequently detained near Lava Java off Pioneer Street in Ridgefield. A passenger remained in the vehicle at McDonald’s. Woodland – Officer reviews burglary report near Lewis River Rd. Officer was asked to review a possible burglary report near the intersection of Lewis River Road and Salmon Street in Woodland. The situation appears to involve a follow-up on a previously reported incident. 2/2/2026 09:08 AM

Woodland – Officer checks semi-truck near Fat Moose. Deputies conducted a possible suspicious vehicle check involving a semi-truck parked near a local restaurant on Lewis River Road. The vehicle was reportedly registered in another state, which prompted concern. 2/13/2026 08:45 AM

Woodland – Deputies locate suspected impaired driver near Woodland. Law enforcement in Woodland responded to reports of a possible impaired driver in a silver SUV traveling westbound from Lyons and Hayes Road. Witnesses reported erratic driving and near collisions. Woodland – Pair threaten staff outside clothing store. Deputies responded to reports of a possible disturbance involving a man and woman attempting to enter a clothing store near Lewis River Road. The subjects reportedly made threats toward employees before leaving in a tan sedan. No weapons were reported, and deputies checked on employees once on scene. 2/11/2026 09:17 PM

Woodland – Overturned vehicle after crash on I-5 near school field. Emergency responders were dispatched to a reported traffic collision near Columbia Elementary baseball field in Woodland. A pickup truck apparently forced another vehicle off the road on I‑5 north, causing it to overturn.
